Cristiano Ronaldo is taking a break from soccer with a short vacation in Madeira, Portugal, where he was born.
We’re so used to watching him share soccer-related content that it almost feels strange to see him post travel content.
Still, the 41-year-old soccer billionaire star is certainly enjoying his time on his native island.
Mostly, we suspect, because of the interesting ‘car’ he’s been using.

Cristiano Ronaldo is soccer’s first billionaire
Achieving billionaire status strictly through sports and related endorsements is incredibly rare.
Most athletes who reach 10 figures do so by pivoting into non-sports industries.
Former AC Milan player and French international Mathieu Flamini, for example, became a billionaire after founding a biochemicals company.
By contrast, Ronaldo is the first player in history to become a billionaire simply with the money he made playing the sport.

Sponsors and brand deals also played a part, obviously, but those are also connected to his soccer career.
Ronaldo joined a list that’s still relatively short.
It includes Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, LeBron James, and Roger Federer.
Ronaldo’s collection now includes a ‘sea car’
Ronaldo is the only confirmed ‘famous’ owner of the Bugatti Centodieci, and he also owns a variety of other rare and expensive cars.

The latest addition to this collection isn’t particularly expensive, but it’s probably just as fun.
Although, for the sake of clarity, this is probably a rented vehicle.
While vacationing in Madeira – a small archipelago that’s part of Portugal – the Portuguese star filmed himself ‘driving’ a Corvette-shaped watercar.
The good news – for the rest of us – is that these cars are relatively inexpensive to rent, and can be found in just about any vaguely popular seaside location in the world.
We can’t say the same about his Bugattis.
