A man has revealed how long it takes to fully charge a Cybertruck at a Tesla Supercharger – and you might find it quite surprising.

There’s been a surge of interest in EVs in recent years, with more brands adding hybrids and all-electrics to their line-ups.

With the innovative cars becoming more common, we’ve seen huge advances made in the power and performance of EVs.

But that’s not to say that they don’t still have their drawbacks – and one particular sticking point is the time spent charging them.

A Cybertruck owner revealed the cost of charging

For Tesla owners, the switch from filling their cars with gas to being able to charge them with electricity seems to be a huge plus point

So much so, that one British woman said receiving her electricity bill was her favorite thing about the vehicle.

In a clip shared online by content creator David Nguyen – or utechpia.dev as he’s known on Instagram – he revealed that ‘filling up’ his Cybertruck at the Supercharger cost around $73.

Which is a lot cheaper than you’d pay to fill your gas-powered car, but still not as cheap as some folks would think.

In fact, several people commented on the clip to note that they ‘thought it would be cheaper’.

He also shared how long it took for a full charge

The clip also revealed one of the big drawbacks to owning an EV compared to a gas-powered vehicle.

The time spent charging it.

If you’re out on the road and realize your fuel tank is running low – provided you’re near a gas station it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to fill up, pay up, and be on your way.

This isn’t quite the same here, with the Cybertruck owner explaining that charging his Cybertruck from 0 to 100 percent will take around 90 minutes.

A decent chunk of time, if you’ve got somewhere to be.

Of course, you won’t always need to fully charge your car, but even going from 10 percent to 20 percent is going to take a lot longer than it would to fill it with gas.

It’s also a lot slower than hydrogen cars, with some hydrogen vehicles only taking seconds to fill up.

But for many the money saved on fuel is more than enough to make up for the time spent waiting for their car to charge.
