Mark Zuckerberg is now a watch collector, evidently, and he knows what he’s doing, collecting all kinds of brands from F.P. Journe to H. Moser & Cie.

Over the last few years, we’ve seen Zuckerberg with some pretty impressive watches on his wrist.

This time, he picked a brand that’s not super mainstream but certainly loved by collectors.

And the reaction of the luxury influencer who interviewed him is priceless.

The watch Mark Zuckerberg was spotted wearing

When Mark Zuckerberg was approached by Daniel Mac – the creator who famously asks people what they do for a living – he was spotted wearing an H. Moser Streamliner Tourbillon Concept.

Daniel clearly had no idea what that was.

“I don’t what this is. What are the specs?” he asked, and he was a little confused because for a second he thought he was looking at a smart watch.

“No [it does not have a screen]. It’s enamel, with a tourbillon. [It has] a dark ceramic bracelet,” Zuckerberg replied.

This brand is much older than people think

After buying all the Rolexes, Omegas, Richard Milles, Patek Philippes, and Audemars Piguets out there, people with money decided to go the extra mile and look for underrated brands.

For most people, H. Moser & Cie. definitely fits the bill.

Less mainstream than other manufacturers, H. Moser & Cie. – or H. Moser as most people call it to simplify things – is much, much older than people realize.

It was originally founded in Russia by Swiss watchmaker Heinrich Moser in 1828.

It was a well-respected and prominent brand for around 50-odd years, but then things went south between the late 1800s and 1900s for two reasons.

First, the founder died in 1874.

This was problematic mostly because his successors were not as capable as he was, but also because the company split into a Swiss branch and a Russian branch.

Both branches withered on the vine for a few years, but in 1918, the business in Russia was expropriated and collapsed.

The Swiss branch remained operational, but it struggled to find its footing for nearly 100 years.

In 2002, the brand was relaunched, and between the 2010s and 2020s, it began gaining real traction.

H. Moser & Cie. loves experimenting with quirky ideas

H. Moser certainly loves experimenting with quirky ideas.

Part of why collectors love the brand is its knack for pushing the envelope.

A while back, they developed a watch literally made out of cheese.

It was a one-off prototype and not a production item, but it was still an interesting thing to do.

Moser is also one of the few watchmakers to successfully integrate Vantablack – a material that absorbs over 99 percent of light – into its dials.

As for Mark Zuckerberg’s H. Moser? Well, we need to talk about that.

Zuckerberg is enjoying his new ‘rich guy’ look

No one knows why, but a few years ago, Mark Zuckerberg ditched the scrawny, geeky tech-guy image and – some would say finally – began looking rich.

He still mostly wears T-shirts, but his style has completely changed.

More importantly, he’s often pictured wearing the ultimate indicator of wealth: a high-end watch.

His collection is varied, and clearly he’s not just buying them because of the name.

Made primarily of ceramic, the watch retails for roughly $112,000 before taxes.

You can buy a supercar for that.
