Dubai is set to welcome a brand new opera house and it’s pretty special.

Azizi Opera will be the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the soon-to-be-built $8.17 billion ($30B AED) mixed-use Azizi Venice development in Dubai South.

Aziz Developments – the company behind the new project – is confident that once it is open, tourists and locals will flock in, estimating a staggering 30,000 daily visitors.

Of course, Dubai is no stranger to some mind-blowing buildings and commercial projects – let’s not forget about the Palm Jumeirah, which has been dubbed the ‘eighth wonder of the world’ or plans to build the world’s largest beach – complete with biodomes.

And Aziz Venice looks set to be no different, with the incredibly swanky new development being home to more than 30,000 residential units, including 100 apartment complexes, and over 400 luxury villas and mansions.

But it’s also set to offer a whole lot more, with luxury stores, high-end restaurants, and bustling nightlife – and nestled in amongst them all will be the stunning gold-colored opera house, encircled by something called the Crystal Lagoon.

The new venue will be built on the Azizi Venice luxurious pedestrian-friendly boulevard that is open-air in the winter and glass-covered in the summer to ensure comfortable temperatures all year round.

The decidedly magical-looking opera house will host a variety of cultural live performances such as ballet, operas, and concerts and will also be available for private events.

Sharing details about the opera house, Aziz Developments writes: “This floating stage, gracefully adrift on the Crystal Lagoon, offers a front-row seat to nature’s dance, with fountains swaying in rhythmic choreography.

“It’s a masterpiece of architectural composition, a bustling cultural overture, a pure work of art —a place where you can revel in the world’s most electrifying performances, where every note, every movement, becomes a part of your own melodic journey.”

Sounds pretty spectacular, right?

Commenting on the new project, Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments, said: “Azizi Venice will truly be a one-of-a-kind community and destination – not just for Dubai but across the Middle East region.  I am very pleased to be introducing Azizi Venice in Dubai.

“This community will become a wonderful home for around 80,000 residents and a fantastic tourist attraction for around 30,000 visitors daily.”

While Farhad Azizi, Chief Executive Officer of Azizi Developments added: “Azizi Opera will become one of the most notable venues for cultural and community events in Dubai.”

Watch this space, guys.
