$640,000 Ferrari Luce EV gets a striking new look with aftermarket makeover

When Ferrari unveiled its first EV, the Ferrari Luce, everyone took to social media to talk about the looks, not the fact it was electric.

The unusual design caught a lot of people off guard.

Now, tuning companies are beginning to change that design.

Starting with this Vossen.

The Vossen Ferrari Luce looks different

In theory, Vossen is mostly known as a manufacturer of high-end rims and wheels.

But, clearly, they’ve gone one step further.

On the face of it, Vossen essentially made two major changes: the new tires and the massive wing at the back.

But that’s just because those are two the things you’ll notice first, because there are actually a lot of subtle modifications, starting with the lowered ride height and a few aero upgrades that are a little less prominent than the wing.

The gold-tone paint is the final touch.

The price tag for these mods hasn’t been revealed, but we do know that the tires cost around $9,300.

Then again, this is a $640,000 vehicle.

The iPhone Duo of electric Ferraris

It isn’t exactly a fair comparison, but the Ferrari Luce was, in hindsight, a bit like the iPhone Duo of electric Ferraris.

As in, everyone knew it would happen at some point and it was an open secret that the company was working on it.

But then it arrived, and people were like: “Oh, I see.”

It wasn’t what we were expecting.

In the case of the iPhone Duo, Apple is being praised for minimizing the crease, but criticized for being ‘late’ in introducing a foldable phone.

In the case of the Luce, Ferrari was mostly praised for engineering a ‘real’ exhaust sound with a clever technical solution, and for daring to be different.

However, the unexpected styling also drew some criticism.

Ironically, but not surprisingly, both the iPhone Duo and Ferrari Luce share at least one criticism in common: everyone knew they would be expensive, and yet they ended up being even more expensive than predicted.
