Someone has spotted a Japanese legend among the chaos of New York City traffic.
This isn’t just any car – it’s a first-generation Honda NSX
A Reddit post picturing the car has been going viral; with the spotter not actually knowing what they had just found.
As one Redditor put it: “It’s THE Honda.”

New York City is home to a supercar icon
Reddit poster lemmedr1vethaboat posted a supercar they had just found.
“What is this Honda?,” they asked.

“1st gen NSX, one of the most beautiful cars of all time IMO”, was the top comment.
The next top comment provided even more fascinating insight into the discovery.
“Many have confirmed is a Honda NSX so just to add more info, Honda sold the NSX in the US under Acura.
“The fact that this is a Honda, and you can see its right hand drive through the windshield, means this car was originally sold in another country then imported to the US.”
“Probably JDM and 100% beautiful.”
Origin story of the Honda NSX
In case you were wondering, the Honda NSX is so beloved for a very good reason.
What we now know as the Honda NSX can actually be traced back as far as 1984.
One of the most important features of the NSX was advanced aerodynamics, as well as a design inspired by the flight deck of the F-16 fighter jet.
The project also received input from Formula One icon Ayrton Senna.
The Honda NSX was the first production car to feature an all-aluminum, semi-monocoque structure.

It featured an all-aluminum, 3.0-liter V6 powerplant – with Honda’s VTEC system of the 1980s.
When it was first displayed at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show, it wowed the masses with both its design and engineering.
The legendary supercar was sold in the United States under the Acura banner.
It remains, to this day, one of the most beloved and iconic supercars of all time.
The Honda NSX is also one of the rarest, with less than 10,000 first-gen NSX units sold in the US.
