This Porsche 911 (992) GT3RS was completely submerged underwater.
In fact, a YouTube channel rescued this car from the depths in order to rebuild it.
Now, they have been working on the salvaged Porsche for over four months.
And – after all their work – it has been fully rebuilt.

Porsche 911 GT3RS revived from the depths
YouTuber Mat Armstrong, who has over 10 million subscribers, salvaged a Porsche 911 GT3RS from some water.
We actually covered the car’s origin story, and how Mat got his hands on the car in question.
As mentioned above, he has documented the process of rebuilding and fixing the car over the past four months.
At the beginning of the video, major progress has been made on Mat’s rebuild.
After installing the petrol tank, front subframe and suspension/chassis leg, the car is really taking shape.
New brake calipers and discs have also been sourced – with the discs ‘costing $5,000 each!’.
That’s pricey by anyone’s standards.
Trouble arises with the 911 rebuild
Further work is completed on the interior (roll cage, air bags, seatbelts) and a full titanium exhaust system, with an ECU trick added to avoid the 911 going into limp mode.
However, a problem arises – and it’s quite a complex one.
Coolant system issues start arising, preventing proper functioning of the system.

Additionally, the gearbox only engages first gear, leading to some troubleshooting to see what’s wrong.
After ringing for some advice from a local Porsche dealer, Mat decides to keep the car rolling, whilst switching between neutral, first and reverse gear.
The idea, although slim, is to let the gearbox get up to temperature.
The hope is that it will activate the gearbox and allow the other gears to work.
The wheels on the Porsche go round and round
It turns out that the issue with the car…is the lack of wheels.
Essentially, the ECU thinks the car is stationary, so it will only allow the car into first gear.
Without wheels, the can’t measure any wheel speed across the front wheels.
So, because he doesn’t actually have the wheels, Mat orders a set and gets to work on the rest.
Finally, after adding some expensive aero parts and putting the rest together, the Porsche 911 GT3RS looks like a brand-new car.
It’s a truly brilliant rebuild, and well worth a watch if you’re interested.
