Facebook Marketplace can be a surprisingly good place to find a used car, but one man took things to a completely different level in Miami.
Instead of browsing for a sensible daily driver, he went hunting for some of the wildest vehicles he could find, including a six-wheel-drive truck, a giant off-road machine and an 840-horsepower Dodge Demon.
The four vehicles became progressively more ridiculous, with one even leaving the road entirely.
And by the time he reached the final car, things had well and truly gotten out of hand.
This $500,000 Ford F-550 from Facebook Marketplace can crab-walk
The first crazy car was a Ford F-550 6×6 with an asking price of almost $500,000, which is a pretty ambitious price tag for a pickup.
But this is definitely not an ordinary F-550, because an icon had been taken and multiplied by six.
The seller explained that the truck is one of just three in the world and has six-wheel drive, along with genuine 24-karat gold detailing.

Its wildest feature, however, is its automated rear steering system, which can be controlled from a phone.
“All six wheels work. It’s six-wheel drive,” the seller explained.
The creator, Mitchel Matthews, activated ‘crab mode’ and watched as the enormous truck moved diagonally across the ground.

It proved surprisingly useful for maneuvering the huge vehicle into tight spaces, although driving it down the road in crab mode looked like something straight out of a video game.
The truck was followed by an enormous off-road side-by-side wearing gigantic 50-inch tires.
The machine had so much ground clearance that Mitchel joked it could drive straight over him, but the real surprise came when he learned it could perform ‘catwalks’ by lifting its front end into the air.

The test drive quickly turned into an off-road adventure, with the vehicle performing wheelies before ending up in a pond. Water started pouring into the vehicle as the occupants attempted to balance it, leaving Mitchel soaked.
He was heard screaming: “OH MY GOD. DUDE, WE’RE SWIMMING IN THIS FREAKING THING RIGHT NOW.”

Then he got behind the wheel of an 840-horsepower Demon
After driving two vehicles that were already completely bonkers from Facebook Marketplace, the third option was a little more familiar – at least at first glance.
It was a 2018 Dodge Demon, but this particular example packs 840 horsepower from its supercharged V8 and was being offered for around $90,000, and it looked like it was made of solid gold.

The owner even let the Mitchel take it for a drive, but things escalated almost immediately.
Mitchel asked if he could do a ‘really small’ five-second burnout, with the owner agreeing on the condition that he didn’t go too crazy, but that did not exactly happen.
The burnout lasted around 33 seconds, leaving the cameraman somewhere down the road and everyone involved wondering what had just happened, and somehow, that still wasn’t the craziest vehicle of the day.

The final car was actually a boat
For the final test, Mitchel wanted something that could do something seemingly impossible: drive on the road and then go straight into the water.
After searching through Miami’s selection of unusual vehicles, he found a 1967 amphibious car listed for around $85,000, but from the outside, it looks like a classic car.

Look at the back, though, and you’ll find propellers.
The vehicle is designed to operate on land before transforming into a boat, with its front wheels used for steering in the water and propellers providing propulsion, but there was just one tiny problem.
The owner had never actually put this particular car in the water, so nobody knew for certain whether the nearly 60-year-old machine would float.

After a brief mechanical hiccup, the creator eventually activated the boat controls and drove the car into the water and incredibly, it worked.
The classic car floated, the propellers kicked in and it began moving through the water under its own power.
The creator even managed to throw it around like a boat before eventually facing the slightly awkward question of how exactly they were going to get it back onto land.
After starting with a $500,000 six-wheel-drive truck, progressing to an enormous off-road machine and then unleashing an 840-horsepower Dodge Demon, ending the day in a classic car-boat hybrid seems like a pretty fitting conclusion.
Facebook Marketplace might not be the first place you’d expect to find vehicles this ridiculous, but this Miami shopping trip proves that if you look hard enough, you can apparently find almost anything (especially in Florida).
