A Florida shop built a 1,400hp Dodge Mopar Demon Hemi V8 engine that defies logic thanks to its power.

While it makes over 800hp in stock form, it’s clear that Tim Eichorn, owner of MPR Racing Engines in Florida, wanted to extract more from it.

That is what has led him and his team to craft this 1,400hp Mopar V8 engine, which produces more power than you can see from supercars like the Bugatti Veyron.

So if over 800hp isn’t enough for you, then maybe this engine will provide a source of inspiration.

How to get 1400hp out of a Mopar engine

The muscle car engine in question was a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, with 807hp and 717lb-ft of torque.

This is the Mopar Demon Hemi crate engine, which you can find in the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.

Tim Eichorn, however, didn’t think this was enough power.

“It came in with a few melted pistons,” he said when speaking to Engine Builder Magazine.

With the tuning and fuel system not where he wanted them to be, he decided to go all-in on upgrades.

Rather than repair the engine and take it back to stock form, MPR Racing Engines did the opposite.

New, high-performance parts were instead thrown the engine’s way.

These include a new stroker crankshaft from Manley and CP forged pistons.

Further upgrades boosted the Mopar Demon Hemi engine’s power

Gone was the standard factory Demon supercharger, and in came a new Whipple supercharger.

That tied in with an increase in the engine displacement over the stock 6.2 liters.

The shop also reworked the valve timing to allow it to handle all of the extra power.

A custom camshaft from Comp Cams was also required.

That resulted in an increase in the engine’s power by a huge amount, making at least 1,400hp in total.

Strap that into the right muscle car, and you could blast down the quarter-mile in just over eight seconds.

To get that extra power, however, premium pump gas will be needed rather than regular gas.

Making this even better is that the engine isn’t going into a muscle car, but a Jeep-style truck instead.

That only makes it even cooler.
