Americans love their pickup trucks, so it comes as little surprise the Ford F-Series is the best-selling vehicle in the United States for the 43rd year in a row.
It’s also been the best-selling truck in the country for 48 years now.
It’s safe to say that no other brand or line of vehicles has ever even come close to it, and that’s for good reason.
After all, they’re remarkable machines. But what makes them so special?

The Ford F-Series remains the king of pickup trucks
Americans certainly love pickup trucks, but the Ford F-Series, and the F-150 especially, gets a little extra attention.
It’s a great utilitarian vehicle, a great family vehicle, and offers a generally excellent driving experience.
From the world’s fastest and most powerful gas-powered truck — the F-150 Raptor R to the latest electric F-150 Lightning, the automaker ensured there’s a variant for everyone.
Since 1977, the automaker has sold more than 33 million units of the fan-favorite F-Series.
“The enduring legacy of the F-Series is not just a result of our relentless pursuit of improvement but also a reflection of the trust between Ford, our dealers and customers,” Ford Blue President Andrew Frick said.
The F-150 will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year, and the carmaker only expects its sales numbers to increase.
Everyone loves the F-150
The masses love the F-150, and some people — like this person who spent millions on Broncos and F-150 Lightnings alone — show the extent of it.
Although it may appear that the F-150 would take up most of the shares in the success of the Ford F-Series, the other trucks have tricks up their sleeves, too.
The F-250 is yet another remarkable machine used for heavy-duty tasks.
It can handle almost everything you throw at it, which is likely why someone even gave their F-250 a million-mile celebratory party.
Say what you will about the F-Series — it wouldn’t change the fact that it’s been doing big numbers for almost half a century now.
It also has solid competition from rivals like the GMC Sierra, the Ram series, and the controversial Tesla Cybertruck.
