As a former Top Gear Stig, you might imagine Ben Collins has quite a wild array of cars in his garage. But that automotive arsenal just got bigger and better as he showcases his first-ever hypercar.

The Stig is as big as any racing legend from the ’90s and ’00s, as the secret driver and his non-verbal alias smashed unbelievable lap times behind the world’s most powerful cars.

But when it comes to owning them, the wallet doesn’t stretch quite as wide as those white leather pants.

Now, though, Ben Collins has just landed a hypercar from one of the most competitive eras of all time, and he kidnapped a fellow content creator who has a passion for these kinds of ‘big cats’ to show it off.

Ex-Stig kidnaps YouTuber to show him his first hypercar purchase

Despite once saying that modern cars feel too heavy, over-assisted, and lacking in driver engagement, Ben Collins doesn’t shy away from the hypercar category.

Just recently, he jumped in a Praga Bohema and put in an astounding lap around Dunsfold Park.

But when it comes to putting cars in his own garage, he prefers old-school vehicles, and his first-ever hypercar had to be cut from ’90s cloth.

Before revealing the model, though, he blindfolded YouTuber Mike Fernie to make him guess the mystery hypercar.

Driving out around Motorsport Valley, the destination could have been anywhere in the British vehicular world.

But when they pulled up at a ‘rubber-smelling’ warehouse and fired up a V6 turbo engine, there was no mistaking where they were.

It was Jaguar-Land Rover Classic, and that roaring engine had to be the Jaguar XJ220.

As the first hypercar to smash the 200mph record, the Jaguar XJ220 is a British icon, and it was the only choice to be the first hypercar in Ben Collins’ garage.

“I always looked at these as an otherworldly UFO spaceship. You know, it’s on the poster… This is the primordial hypercar,” Collins said.

“A car that once seemed utterly out of reach now has my name on the V5. Sensible? No. Exciting? Very slightly terrifying, actually.”

Influenced by the YouTuber, the pair marveled over the magnificent beast.

It’s not the only car Collins owns, though.

It will join a Porsche 911 Turbo (997.2), a Lancia Delta Integrale Evo I, and an Ex-Military Land Rover Defender in his garage.
