This gorgeous 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was once owned by Freddie Mercury, lead singer of the rock band Queen.
It has just been sold for £286,250 – equivalent to around $340k.
And the best part is that proceeds from the sale went to charity, which is always nice to hear.

The car is spotless, painted in Silver Chalice with blue leather upholstery for the interior.
Inside, you’ll also find the original in-car phone and the stereo system with a cassette deck, and both still work.

The vehicle has been carefully looked after, but it has never been modified in any way.
This makes it rare, because it is quite difficult to find a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow from the 1970s in factory conditions.
The Rolls is powered by the iconic 6.75-liter V8.
It is in good condition but the listing clearly states it will “require comprehensive mechanical inspection once purchased”.
This may have impacted the selling price.
Freddie Mercury absolutely loved his Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow.
In fact, he even sang about it in the 1975 song I’m In Love With My Car.
However, he never actually drove it as he famously didn’t have a driving license.
Freddie Mercury’s sister Kashmira Cooke inherited the car after her brother’s passing and she mostly drove it around in Tanzania, where she was living at the time.
In 2013, the car was sold on to Ukrainian actor and singer Andriy Danylko for $84,000, which definitely sounds like a bargain.
The car was sold through RM Sotheby’s and there was no pre-auction estimate.
All proceeds from the sale will go a charity organization that’s providing aid for Ukrainian war victims.
