Comedian Gabriel Iglesias has a $3 million collection of more than Volkswagen buses.

He stores them in Fluffy Mansion, which has been designed to resemble the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg, Germany.

Usually, when we see celebrity car collections, we’re getting treated to an array of supercars.

Iglesias has gone a different route with his Volkswagen line-up.

A lot of different things may come to your mind if someone mentions a celebrity’s car collection.

Perhaps you’re thinking of Shaquille O’Neal and his array of cars that have been modified to fit his exceptionally tall frame.

Or perhaps Taylor Swift springs to mind with her $1.5 million stacked with SUVs and supercars.

Whoever you think of, there tends to be one commonality – a lot of cash was spent to accumulate these vehicles.

Comedian Gabriel Iglesias is no different in this regard.

But what’s different about his collection is the choice of vehicle he’s chosen to populate it with.

That being Volkswagen buses.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that – these buses are iconic in their own right, and perfectly personify the Flower Power vibe of the 1960s.

Iglesias credited known car enthusiast Jay Leno with getting him into car collecting.

If anyone knows about collecting cars, it’s Leno – the value of his collection is truly astonishing.

But the question remains – why Volkswagen buses specifically?

How Iglesias’ love affair with the VW began

It turns out that the comedian purchased his first 1968 Volkswagen Transporter Type 2 when he was 17 years old, paying a measly $700 for it.

So there’s clearly a lot of sentimental value there.

The comedian said his collection was ‘truly priceless’ to him.

He said each Volkswagen bus in his collection was valued between $100,000 and $200,000 – not that he had any intention of selling.

“As soon as I’m gone, this is going to be turned into a museum for the city of Long Beach,” he told Business Insider.

That’s a great legacy to leave behind.
