This Georgia woman put a Tesla Cybertruck side-by-side against a Model X to decide which was her favorite family car.

YouTuber Kim Java admitted that the cars were similar in many ways, particularly price and range.

But which one would come out on top when it comes to family life?

She put the cars through a set of tests to determine the victor.

Comparing the Cybertruck and Model X

We’ve seen a lot of people compare EVs in the past.

Some have put their Tesla Model X Plaid up against a Rivian RS1 in a towing challenge, while others have compared their Tesla’s longevity to other EVs.

But comparing cars on how family-friendly they are is a whole different ballpark.

YouTuber Everyday Chris did such a comparison between the Cybertruck and the Model X.

In his opinion, the Model X came out on top as the more practical daily driver for a family man.

So that raises the question – would Kim Java come to the same conclusion?

On the doors, she complimented both cars.

“[The Model X’s Gull-wing doors] make it so easy to put a kid into their car seat,” she said.

“[Cybertruck’s doors] are also really easy, they open 90 degrees so you don’t have to thread the needle.”

Which Tesla came out on top?

When it comes to utility space, the Cybertruck comes out as the clear winner.

Kim’s husband said putting a bike in the back was a ’10-second job versus a 10-minute job’, which says it all. really.

While the Cybertruck can tow more, the Model X can fit more people inside.

So they each had their strengths.

That said, the heavy-duty doors of the Cybertruck were singled out as being a safety risk for families.

Using a cucumber, they showed the trunk door cutting it in half as it closed.

The sharp edges of the door were also highlighted, as Kim used them to shave the skin off a cucumber.

It’s amusing how many comparisons between these two EVs involve food being crushed in their doors.

So, with all of that in mind, which car came out as the go-to family car?

Despite some of its limitations, Kim still vouched for the Cybertruck.

“It has the Model X beat with steer-by-wire, it’s plenty spacious and comfortable, and easy to maneuver,” she said.
