One car owner got an insight into the former life of his used Corvette when a window graphic reappeared on the window.

Oftentimes we can speculate on the life our cars had before we owned them.

Some sites can give us an overview – but, if you look closely, there are other telltale signs.

The former life of this Chevrolet Corvette

Reddit user R3dF41c0n posted a picture of his car online, asking for advice on getting rid of a decal.

The decal, which is featured on the rear window, apparently appeared a day after purchase.

It reveals the car’s celebrity past, as it read: “Rich Piana 5%.”

That might require some context.

Rich Piana was a bodybuilder who transitioned from competitions into motivational speaking, much like Arnold Schwarzenegger, who also loves his cars.

He racked up nearly one million followers on Instagram, so it’s evident that he had an audience.

But why is the 5% there?

That’s because he’d often spoken of only 5 percent of people being motivated enough to pursue and reach their goals.

From that, 5 percent became the foundation of his brand of workout supplements ‘5% Nutrition’.

A closer look at Rich Piana

Piana’s pricey taste in cars was renowned, as he once admitted to crashing his Bentley on his YouTube channel.

To be fair to him, he’s not the first famous face to have one of his cars damaged – Kim Kardashian’s Range Rover was allegedly crashed by a former employee and had to be sold.

Sadly, Piana passed away in 2017 from a suspected heart attack. He was only 46 years old.

Whilst the ‘Rich Piana 5%’ decal may point towards the car being his, it’s not a definite thing.

If it was his, it’s likely that he didn’t own for it long given that it was released a year before his untimely death.

There is a possibility that his name and motto were placed on the rear window by a fan of his, who wanted to pay tribute.

It could have also been a promotional vehicle used to advertise his nutritional brand.

Reddit users have shared that Piana drove other cars emblazoned with the logo, lending credibility to the theory that the Corvette did belong to him.

In any case, should you find your car has a decal on the rear window, you’d be advised to use rubbing alcohol to wipe the glass clean.
