GTA 6 highly anticipated release date announced by Rockstar

After months of speculation, rumors, and hearsay, we finally have a release date for the upcoming GTA 6 video game.

It took over a decade and several leaks, but Rockstar Games finally caved in and made everyone happy by sharing something that’s close to an actual release date.

So mark your calendar for 2025.

GTA 5 was released well over a decade ago, in 2013, but the buzz around the upcoming next chapter only became huge relatively recently, after the infamous leak that showed the world several minutes of gameplay.

The leak kick-started a snowball effect with rumors on top of rumors and leaks on top of leaks.

Over the course of the last 10-15 months, we’ve learned several things about the new game.

We know there will be two protagonists, a man and a woman, and we know the vehicle dynamics and physics will change, too.

The goal is to make the driving experience, including crashes, more realistic, kind of like the way it was in GTA 4, which a lot of fans believe may be the best GTA ever when it comes to this specific detail.

We also learned that Rockstar will include new animals and a new wanted system.

The new map will be gigantic.

The main location will be Vice City (Miami, Florida), but the game could potentially also include different states and another country outside the US, loosely based on Panama.

In December 2023, Rockstar Games released the GTA 6 trailer, which broke a YouTube record.

And then when Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive, said in an interview that the company was expecting a surge in revenue in fiscal year 2025, everyone assumed he was referring to GTA 6.

It seems they were right, GTA 6 is now expected to be released in the fall of 2025.
