A couple of car enthusiasts found a lot more than they bargained for when they picked up a 1970s Cadillac off Facebook Marketplace and discovered a blood-soaked bag in the trunk.

The pair bought the rusty 1970s Cadillac Coupe de Ville sight unseen for around $3,793 (£2,900).

Now, while that may sound like a bit of bargain for such an iconic and classic car – a quick glance at the vehicle would tell you otherwise.

The car, which has spent the last 30 years in the UK, is covered in rust and is literally falling apart. So not such a bargain, after all then.

The 1970s Cadillac Coupe de Ville was in terrible shape

We’ve seen plenty of cases that really hammer home the old adage ‘buyer beware’ when it comes to buying second-hand vehicles, such as the man who dropped a whopping $130,000 on a sight unseen Plymouth Superbird which turned out to be riddled with problems, or the man who flew from the US to Germany to pick up his dream 1966 Corvette only to find the car in parts when he arrived.

Meanwhile, over in the UK Edwin Evans and Will Chandler, from the Top Dead Center YouTube channel, ended up buying ‘the worst car on Facebook Marketplace’.

After snapping up the vintage motor, the duo set about giving it a quick once over.

And it was here they discovered that the car was in seriously bad shape – so much so that they could pop a finger right through the rusted hood. Not ideal.

The rust isn’t just confined to the hood, either, it’s on every available surface from the doors to the floors.

As you’d expect, the engine was in an equally sorry state.

There was a jump scare in the trunk of the Facebook Marketplace car

Next up, the pair decided to check out what was in the trunk.

Interestingly, there were some spare parts for the Cadillac in there – and if any car was in need of new parts it would be this one, right?

The trunk also contained some brake fluid and a spare tire, so far, so normal.

But then the pair happened to discover a bloody bag covered in dust.

“Ergh, what’s that?” Evans asked picking up the bag.

“That’s blood and dust.”

Oh, great.

Unperturbed by the creepy discovery the men took the car out onto the road and soon discovered it was a bit of a death trap.

“I’ve never been more scared in a car in my life,” Evans confessed.

“There’s an issue with the brakes – emergency braking is simply not happening.”

Scary stuff, indeed.
