Car enthusiasts have gone a bit far once again, as a group decided to see if they could make their car zoom fast by adding a propellor on the car.

An old Soviet Lada was used for this whacky experiment.

The propeller was mounted on the trunk lid and connected directly to the car’s driveshaft, which required a lot of effort, but the only thing that mattered to them was the end result.

Guys put a propellor on a car to make it go fast

This bizarre experiment was shown on YouTube by Garage 54, who usually show their love for cars with wild attempts like this.

After the car was modified with an added propellor, it was time to see if this weird addition enhanced the car’s speed.

They even added a gearbox to the propellors to control its speed.

Initially, without the propellors engaged, the car managed to go from 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in 9.2 seconds.

But as soon as the propellor on the car engaged, things started to go downhill.

The results were unexpected

In the first gear of the propeller, the car was surprisingly held back, taking 10 seconds to reach 60 kilometers per hour.

As they shifted to the second gear, the time increased to 10.2 seconds.

By the time they reached the third gear, the car was even slower, taking 10.8 seconds to hit 60 kilometers per hour (37mph).

The final blow came when they tried the fourth gear of the propeller.

The car couldn’t even reach 60 kilometers per hour (37mph) and maxed out at just 54 kilometers per hour (34mph).

Despite several attempts, the result was disappointing – a complete failure.

Instead of making the car quicker, the propeller acted as a massive airbrake, dragging the car down and making it slower.

Well, things didn’t work out as planned, just like this Ferrari competitor that never was – but the idea was definitely worth trying.
