There’s an extremely easy hack that can make your Apple iPhone’s battery last much longer without the need for a charger.

If you’ve had your Apple iPhone for a while, the chances are the battery isn’t as good as it once was.

Over time, phone batteries degrade, and you might not get as long between charges.

There’s a simple way to make your iPhone’s battery last much longer

Battery degradation on phones can be a massive pain. And in a worst-case scenario, it may even mean you need to replace your battery or the entire phone.

Thankfully, there are plenty of tips, tricks, hints, and hacks out there to help protect your battery’s health and prolong battery life between charges.

A former Apple employee has warned against charging your phone to 100 percent, while Apple offers a few easy things you can do to make your battery last longer

Now, a new study has also helped find another easy-peasy thing you can do to preserve your battery life. And it might be particularly helpful to those of you who are in a bunch of group chats.

A study from Common Sense Media found that younger people could receive as many as 5,000 notifications per day.

And, as iPhone users will know, when you get a notification, your screen will light up.

So, if you’re getting hundreds, or even thousands, of notifications per day, your screen will be lit up almost constantly. That’s a serious drain on the battery

However, since 2015, Apple has had a feature called Facedown Detection.

It uses ambient light and proximity sensors to ‘know’ when your iPhone is facedown on a table. Which prevents the screen from lighting up – even if you get a notification.

This means that if you place your phone facedown when you’re not using it, that can help make your iPhone’s battery last longer.

That’s not the only way to curb your notifications

Apple doesn’t have a way of stopping the screen from lighting up when it gets a notification, other than activating Facedown Detection by keeping it facedown.

However, if that’s not for you, you can also get rid of notifications by putting your iPhone into Do Not Disturb Mode. Or you can turn off all notifications in the Settings.

If you still want to get notifications for some apps, then you can choose which ones by going into Settings, selecting Notifications, and then choosing a specific app’s icon.

From here, you can toggle notifications on or off. And help keep your battery healthier for longer.
