This guy in Michigan has owned his high-mileage Ford F-350 Super Duty truck for years, and he’s already done over 1.3 million miles in it.

He also figured out an interesting method to keep track of the mileage.

But what’s even more amazing is the truck still runs like clockwork.

This is probably down to a simple trick the owner uses to keep it in good shape.

The Ford F-350 Super Duty truck is, as the name suggests, a more heavy-duty option over the consumer-oriented Ford F-150, which used to be America’s best-selling vehicle.

It’s bigger than the F-150, and more powerful, and it also features a couple of interesting Easter Eggs you won’t find in most trucks.

More to the point, this truck is unkillable.

He bought it second-hand in 2013 when the truck had only done 98,000 miles, and set about putting (a lot) more miles under the truck’s belt.

The main reason why this truck is so reliable is the meaty, no-nonsense 6.7-liter V8 diesel under the hood, which the owner keeps in good shape with a neat little trick: he never drives it over 30mph when he’s towing stuff.

This guy documented his experience with the truck on his YouTube channel, and he even described the unique method he uses to record the truck’s mileage as he adds miles under its tires on the gorgeous highways of Michigan.

Since the odometer only shows six figures (plus decimals), the owner uses the ‘trip B’ feature to continue at 10,000 miles increments, then records and resets.

This is how he knows he’s driven the truck for 1.3 million miles and counting.

And yet, this high-mileage Ford truck has barely completed its running in period when we compare it to other vehicles.

There’s an ancient Volvo P1800, which now lives in a museum, which set an unbeatable record.

Before being retired and parked in a Volvo museum, this P1800 did 3.2 million miles, and each of those miles was covered with the same owner at the wheel over the course of 50+ years.
