Honda has made the decision to hang three 2026 Passport TrailSport’s from a crane as a weird marketing stunt, but it has its reasons.
The 2026 Honda Passport Trailsport is unique in that it has front and back recovery points and the automaker used this as a way to show off the pure strength of the hooks.
Both the front and back recovery points are strong enough to hold twice the SUV’s weight and in this case, clearly they can hold 3x their weight.
The hooks are also specially designed so that if the SUV is in a collision, they can break off, making them both strong and safe.

These Honda SUVs need a passport for their crane adventure
As marketing stunts go, ones with a Z-axis never fail to generate a lot of interest.
A lot like the Chevy dealer in the Dominican Republic who glued a pickup truck to the side of the building, Honda has hung three of its brand new 2026 Passport TrailSports from a crane.
This might seem like a weird stunt, but it’s actually a very smart plan from the automaker because it shows off the strength of the SUV’s recovery points.

What can we expect from the new TrailSports?
Obviously, the pièce de résistance of the New Honda Passport Trailsports is its towing capacity and the super strong orange powder-coated cast-iron recovery points.
Not only can you find recovery points on both the front and the back of the SUV that are super strong, they’ve been designed with safety in mind and will break away in the event of a front end collision with another vehicle.
The hooks can hold up to two times the weight of the SUV, but as this marketing stunt showed, they can actually hold three times their weight.
Not only did it look incredibly cool, but it showed off the amazing strength these cars have, an extremely smart move.
The TrailSport starts at $46,200 and the more rugged and elite versions come to $49,900 and $53,900 respectively.
It seems that Honda has made a ‘very strong’ case for their new Passport TrailSports, get it?
