This 1970s Chevrolet Suburban has hit the auction block, but it turns out it may not be able to hit the road.
Even though it comes with unique, vintage features, the last time it ran was over half a decade ago.
This is no ordinary Chevrolet, though, with the Illinois police branding clear to see.
In a bid to shift the ride, troopers even took to social media to show off their old wheels.

This Chevrolet Suburban has some quirks
Vintage police vehicles are a popular snap-up amongst gearheads.
But this one in Illinois might be less sought-after.
The listing on Gov Deals states that the vehicle has been owned by the Village of Morton since 1970.
And now it’s looking for a new home.

The car is a bright red Chevrolet Suburban with ‘Morton Emergency Services’ and ‘Morton Police Emergency 911’ adorning the side.
The Chevrolet Suburban was first introduced in the 1930s and is America’s longest-running vehicle, according to Donohoo Chevrolet.
It spans 12 generations and has been a firm favourite thanks to its versatility.
Here’s what the Suburban has to offer
The car is powered by a powerhouse of a 350 Automatic, four-barrel carburetor engine, which even has the original title in hand.

It also has just 18,000 original miles along with original interior, lighting, and hardware from the time of purchase.
The Morton Police Department shared a post to Facebook explaining the part it played in police history.
“We are selling this beauty to the highest bidder. It is a 1970, 3 door, Chevy Suburban. All original with a little over 18,000 miles,” they said in the post.
But that’s not all, it also comes with ‘bubble gum rotating lights on top’ too.
“Would make a pretty awesome ride for someone to restore or keep as is,” the post continued.
There is a slight catch, though, as the car actually doesn’t run, and the last time it did was eight years ago.
Regardless of its running state, the Chevrolet Suburban is a cool vintage snap-up that really wouldn’t look out of place in a museum.
The current listing ends in late October, so if you’re serious about owning a beautiful piece of police history, make sure you move fast.
