Jerry Seinfeld is renowned for being a lover of Porsche, but he’s also a fan of another brand which may surprise you.

The comedian is almost as renowned for being a Porsche fanatic as he is for his 1990s sitcom.

Well, not quite, but it’s still a widely known thing about the 70-year-old comedian.

But in a recent podcast interview, Seinfeld admitted he had another car love – Subarus.

Jerry Seinfeld is known for being a Porsche fanatic – but what else is sitting in his garage?

Celebrities are known for loving their cars, but Jerry Seinfeld may well be in a league of his own.

He’s worth $1.1 billion and he knows how to spend it.

Over the years, he’s accumulated many impressive cars, including a 2004 Porsche Carrera GT and a modest $18k Fiat 124 Special T.

With a reported 47 Porsches in his possession, it’s no wonder people have come to associate the funny man with the brand.

It’s a little bit like Matthew McConaughey with Lincolns and Shaquille O’Neal with basically any car that he can fit in.

At any rate, Seinfeld recently got candid about another brand that has taken his fancy.

Whilst appearing on The Smoking Tire Crew podcast, he revealed that he had owned a few Subarus in his time.

These included such exotic models as the WRX STI Type RA and the S209.

“I have a Subaru S209. Do you know what that is?

“What a great car. […] I love Subarus,” he told the podcast.

Which other Subarus did he own?

When podcast hosts Matt Farah and Zack Klapman delved further into Seinfeld’s history with Subarus, they found out that his first Subaru was a 2018 WRX STI Type RA.

Only 500 of these cars were ever made in the US, with an additional 75 being made above the border in Canada.

They included special upgrades such as a carbon fiber roof, an upgraded exhaust, and rear wing gold wheels.

He preferred the S209 out of the two though, having bought it back after selling it.

The S209 was sold exclusively in the US in 2019, and featured an engine upgrade and a carbon fiber roof.

Seinfeld enjoyed both Porsche and Subarus, as they’re the only automakers to still use Boxer engines.

On the podcast, he lamented that some of Subaru’s driving qualities are ‘lacking’ in modern cars.

“When I started with cars, the way companies express their national character through these machines was so entertaining.

“And [these] precious few left that do it, and I think Subaru is one; they express their national character, and the Japanese automotive character is fantastic.

“They have a great automotive passion, and I love what they do,” he said.
