Jerry Seinfeld’s RUF-built Porsche 911 recently sold for an absolute fortune.

As a matter of fact, it completely smashed the ceiling of its original value.

Seinfeld is one of the world’s most well-known car addicts.

And now, one of his special cars has trebled its value from before.

Jerry Seinfeld’s Porsche 911 sells for a bomb

Air-cooled Porsche 911 cars are becoming increasingly hot commodities.

Old-school Porsches have, for the last few years, been booming in value.

But even among that special market, this particular car stands out among the rest.

And that’s because this is Jerry Seinfeld’s RUF-built Porsche 911.

Of course, Jerry Seinfeld owning a Porsche isn’t exactly the most shocking thing in the world.

But the sheer value of the sale at hand is very much a head-turner.

And that is because this RUF-built Porsche 911 just sold for $657,000.

The sale, facilitated by Bring a Trailer, represents a massive spike in value.

Seinfeld bought this 911 back in 2008, and sent it straight to Germany.

RUF-built Porsche 911 gets complete makeover

Yes, that’s right – Jerry Seinfeld bought this Porsche 911 and immediately sent it to RUF.

It spent the next three at RUF headquarters in Pfaffenhausen, Germany.

Over the next three years, the tuner transformed what began as a classic 911S into something far more personal, a car tailored to Seinfeld’s exacting taste.

So what exactly did the German tuner to do Jerry Seinfeld’s 911?

Well, if you lift the rear hood, you’ll get your first look at the changes.

For one thing, a 3.4-liter twin-plug flat six is fitted with individual throttle bodies, electronic fuel injection, and a RUF exhaust system.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a custom-built, six-speed manual gearbox.

And RUF only just got started when it came to the powerplant.

They also strengthened the chassis with extra bracing and fitted Bilstein suspension components.

Brakes were swapped in from a Porsche 930, and yet the car has lost none of its feel.

In fact, there are very few giveaways that this is not a stock Porsche 911.

When the total was counted up, Jerry Seinfeld’s bill came to around $300,000.

That means that the celebrity comedian spent more with RUF on modifications than the actual car itself.

It also means that Seinfeld likely made a tidy profit on selling the car on.
