A man who found a strange cluster of objects on Google Earth went out to the desert to get to the bottom of the mystery and discovered it was actually a bunch of old cars, which really just raised more questions.

People have found all sorts of unusual things thanks to Google Earth, from an F-16 left at a storage facility to an abandoned car graveyard in California

More recently, urban explorer and drone operator Jessie – from Jessie’s Drone Adventures YouTube channel – spotted a ‘strange cluster of something’ in the Arizona desert.

The mysterious shapes piqued his interest, and he headed out to the Arizona desert to take a closer look.

His discovery raised more questions

In a video shared to his YouTube channel, Jessie explained that he had started using Google Earth to help scope out hard-to-reach places and remote locations in search for anything out of the ordinary.

Which is exactly what he spotted when checking out an area near a railroad track in the desert in Phoenix.

Jessie initially thought it might have been old railcars that had come off the tracks, but eventually decided they looked a bit too small for that.

So, he hopped on his e-bike and traveled out to the spot in real life to see if he could get some answers.

After arriving at the spot, Jessie saw that the ‘strange cluster’ was actually a pile of old cars left to rust and rot in the wash.

The YouTuber sent his drone over the classic cars to get a better look and then went down on foot to check it out for himself.

As you might have guessed, the cars weren’t in good shape, and most of them had been completely picked apart for any salvageable parts.

The urban explorer had a theory about how they ended up there

The haul of vintage vehicles left Jessie questioning how they ended up there in the first place, but he said his cousin may have the answer.

According to his cousin, an old junkyard had been in that area years back.

When officials wanted to build a highway through the area, they reached out to the owner and bought the land from him.

However, after getting the money, the junkyard was said to have simply abandoned the old vehicles and moved on.
