Despite his vast wealth, John Cena spent so much fixing Diablo kit car he could have bought one and a half brand new Lamborghinis.

Ironically, the wrestlemaniac decided to buy himself a Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster kit car because he wanted to save money instead of blowing a huge sum on an original.

Like all the best-laid plans, though, the kit car became a financial money pit and a project that ended up lasting over two decades.

The wrestler recently revealed the eye-watering price he spent fixing up his Diablo kit car, and unfortunately for him, it ended up costing him the equivalent of one and a half brand new Lamborghinis.

Sometimes, even celebrities take a gamble when it comes to trying to save a bit of money. And everyone’s favourite John Cena unfortunately found himself on the bad end of a terrible deal.

Apart from wrestling, Cena is known for having a deep love of cars. But he thought that he could skirt around paying full price for a Lamborghini Diablo by buying a Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster kit car.

When he first got hold of the kit car, he discovered it came to him in a very bad shape. It was made from mismatched parts, and the gearbox didn’t work properly.

Cena sent the replica to at least 10 different shops. But every failed attempt led to the wrestler spending more money.

After 21 years, countless trips to the mechanic, and hundreds of thousands of dollars spent, John Cena finally got his car back up and running, ready to tear up the roads.

Cena believes that the final cost came to $409,000. Which, we’re sure you’ll agree, is a ridiculously high price for a replica. It’s also the cost of one and a half brand-new Lambo Diablos.

Maybe he should have spent $273,000 back in 1997, when an original Diablo VT Roadster retailed for that much.

When it comes to car issues, he should’ve Cena it coming!
