A billionaire entrepreneur has revealed in an interview what he’d recommend to someone wanting to make a million dollars.
In the video posted to TikTok, John DeJoria – the guy who invented Patrón Tequila – gives his top tips.
He first explains that your product or service has got to be the best.
He goes into more detail, saying that you don’t want to be in the selling business – you want to be in the reorder business.
In other words, if you have a product or service you want to sell, you have to think one step ahead.
Don’t just plan to have people purchase your product or service once – sell them on the reorder.
Provide so much value that your clients will want to come back for more.
The second thing he discusses is being prepared for a lot of rejection – because you’re going to get it.
DeJoria says that if you’re prepared for rejection, it’s not going to affect you.
He shares his own personal experience of when he used to sell encyclopedias door-to-door.
According to DeJoria, the average time for an encyclopedia salesperson after they were trained was just three days.
He said he was given some advice, though, which made him successful in three and a half years.
He was told that a lot of people won’t make it, some of them will, but the ones that do, do so because they overcome objection.
Sound advice from a man that is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world.
