This is the truly heart-breaking moment a Lamborghini Diablo fell off the back of a truck while on its way to its new owner.

The classic car was being loaded into a truck to be delivered to its new home when disaster struck.

A passerby managed to capture the unfortunate mishap, and it’s enough to bring a tear to the eye of any car-lover.

We’re not sure who we feel more sorry for, the new owner or the guy behind the wheel of the truck.

The Lamborghini Diablo was on its way to its new home

The Lamborghini Diablo was launched back in 1991 and was the first Lamborghini capable of hitting a top speed of more than 200mph (320km/h).

The sports car became an instant icon – so much so that one man spent two decades attempting to track down the one that used to belong to his dad, and Donald Trump once even splashed out on a one-off custom Diablo Roadster.

So, you can only imagine the utter heartbreak the new owner of this Lamborghini Diablo must have felt when they were told that their precious motor had literally fallen off the back of a truck.

The photos were shared on the RADwood Facebook page by a man called Andre Thompson, before turning up on the supercar.fails Instagram page.

Someone explained what caused the fall

In the images, you can see the Diablo has slid off the trailer lift onto the road below.

In a comment on Instagram, one person claimed the incident unfolded when the Diablo had to be taken off the truck to make room for a 1965 Mustang.

What should have been a fairly simple procedure, quickly went wrong after the ramp collapsed to the right side, leaving the poor Diablo in a particularly precarious spot.

The same Instagram user claimed a crane had to be called in to lift the car to safety.

The truck driver unstrapped the car from the trailer and, with the help of the crane operator, got it back onto solid ground.

Make sure you remember this story next time you think you’re having a bad day.
