How one woman’s dress turned into Lamborghini’s most scandalous color Verde Scandal

Today, you can buy a Lamborghini Urus, a Lamborghini Temerario, or any Lambo supercar in Verde Scandal, a special shade of green with a unique story behind it.

We generally tend to think there must be a laborious and complicated process when it comes to the way automakers choose the colors to use for their cars.

But that wasn’t the case for this shade of green.

As it turns out, the Italian marque created this color for the strangest of reasons.

In the 1960s, a would-be customer who wanted to buy a Miura asked the company to spec her car using the same shade of green as the dress she was wearing when she walked into the showroom.

The request surprised the marque. But, as we all know, the customer wants, the customer gets, and so Lambo set about creating this unique paint.

Initially designed as a one-off paint option for the Miura, Verde Scandal became a regular paint option simply because everyone loved it.

In theory, Verde Scandal is one of 30-40 paint options available for your Italian supercar.

But, in practice, with Ad Personam, the number of paint options is potentially infinite.

The marque regularly creates one-off vehicles to showcase what its Ad Personam customization program can do.

They did that with the Revuelto Opera Unica, the Revuelto inspired by Sardinia, a Lamborghini Urus designed for Miami Art Week, and the list goes on.

They also did it with the Lamborghini Temerario, designed for MotoGP star Pecco Bagnaia.

Verde Scandal is not as popular as Verde Mantis, a brighter shade of lime green, which is one of Lambo’s most popular paint options, along with Nero Nemesis and Bianco Icarus, but it’s still quite popular.

And it’s all because a lady with a green dress who wanted to buy a Miura.
