A legendary supercar was left untouched on the side of a house buried in snow for 15 years in Upstate New York, but it was eventually restored to its former glory.

This is the story of how a white 1988 Porsche 928 got restored after being abandoned for more than a decade.

In a place like Upstate New York, you can count on snow, sleet, and heat pounding that car year-round.

The result was a dirty, moldy, and mouse-infested hunk of metal.

Legendary supercar: 1988 Porsche 928 gets restored

Most cars in this condition might be sent to the junkyard but not this 1988 Porsche 928.

This legendary supercar has a great underdog story marking its return from junk to a premium supercar.

However, this restoration was only possible, due to the amazing folks at AMMO NYC, who documented the entire process on a YouTube video.

This legendary supercar was initially found by their friend.

He saw the Porsche buried in the snow in New York City.

After 6 months of negotiating with the owner, they finally got their hands on the car.

Restoration

However, after years of neglect, the car was covered in a thick layer of mold, with caked in bits of dirt.

Even the interior had a lot of built-up grime.

Fortunately, the legendary supercar went straight into their detailing shop for a full cosmetic revival.

The initial rinse of the Porsche 928 is quite soothing and fun to watch as the dirt peels off to reveal the paint underneath.

The interior also required some cleaning using a steam cleaner.

Looking at the video, it’s quite satisfying to see all that built-up grime get washed away.

The end result is a beautiful white Porsche that looks brand new.
