This man from New Mexico bought a Toyota Camry TRD from an auction yard, and it looked perfect until he opened the door.
The gearhead managed to get the car for a bargain sum.
But there was always the chance that the car and its price were really too good to be true.
Let’s find out what happened, shall we?

Toyotas can be very reliable cars
In fact, the Japanese manufacturer is known to produce a varied fleet, from the Supra to the Prius.
Plus, a 2004 Toyota concept was the first-ever hybrid supercar, too.
However high-tech cars can be, though problems can often occur – especially when water is involved, as this YouTuber was about to find out.
Creator NKY Auto bought a 2024 Camry TRD from Copart, and the car looked to be in pretty good shape from the outside, or so he thought.
The Camry looked great on the outside, but it was water-damaged

He snapped up the car for only $18,000 with 4,904 miles on the clock, however, it had some water damage.
When it was first fired up, it ran like a dream.
But the water had damaged the seats, which indicated that the water level would have been high in the vehicle.
Some wires were also disconnected under the seat – which let’s face it, isn’t a promising sight.
“I am excited about this car, but the water line does scare me,” he explained.
He stripped down the water-damaged Toyota Camry

To get a better understanding of the extent of the damage, the car was stripped of its seat and center console and he found that the connectors weren’t working.
He also replaced the seats so that there was no rust in sight, and bought a new amp.
All was not lost, though, as the carpet was reusable and the bottom of the car appeared to be damage-free. But it wasn’t completely out of the woods – the airbag light was still on.
Ultimately, the airbag light was the result of an issue that needed to be fixed by Toyota, with a new airbag computer.
Even though he already replaced it, it wasn’t a match, so after a new one was installed, the Toyota Camry TRD was fit to grace the road.
The car looked brand new and a far cry from the damaged predecessor.
