This woman learned the hard way just why a man wanted to return her car battery for her.

Thanks to a clever hidden factor that operates in the US, there was a secret benefit that she had no idea about.

But, after catching wind of the reason, she quite literally cashed in on it.

And after hearing about it – you could too.

When it comes to car batteries, there’s no denying that they’re an important factor in what gets the car moving.

In fact, to test just how important it was, one Tesla owner even froze the battery in his Model 3 Performance just to see what would happen and got a big surprise.

Plus, another man who bought a nine-year-old Tesla Model S that’d driven 250,000 miles revealed how the battery life held up, too.

But in both EVs and gas powered vehicles, sometimes they need returning or replacing – as this woman found out.

Only, she revealed a hidden perk that many people don’t actually know.

Say no to others returning it for you

“If a man ever offers to return a battery for you, return it yourself,” said @jgrizzyyy.

“I almost let a man return my old battery for me, not knowing that I was about to get 18 dollars back,” she continued.

Yes, that’s right – you can earn yourself a few bucks by returning your old battery.

“There are several places to consider. The value of your old car battery can vary depending on where you sell it,” according to wis-tek.com

Auto-parts stores, scrap metal yards, car dealerships, and even recycling centres can give you cash for the part.

So, before you consider handing it off to someone else to dispose of, remember, you could do it yourself and earn some cash in the process.

What’s not to love?

After learning she could get cash for the battery she warned others too

“I’m glad that I returned it myself because where was the 18 dollars going to go?” she asked.

But some users, simply weren’t all that bothered by the seemingly revolutionary news.

“Well, duh, that’s the tip,” one user said:

“I’ve never gotten a dime from old batteries,” said another.

But what do you think? Would you want your few bucks to put towards another buy? Or does the manual labour outweigh the need for a 20 dollar boost?

We know what we’d do in this situation, that’s for sure.
