This Maryland father built his 10-year-old son a $100,000 racetrack on his property.

Unfortunately, things didn’t quite go to plan because the neighbors hated the noise so much they were forced to shut it down.

When dad Charles Siperko finished the track in January, he said his son Achilles got to drive on it for about 15 minutes.

He said that was the first and last time it’s been used.

Dad builds son a $100,000 racetrack

Siperko is the CEO of a local roofing company based in Howard County, Maryland.

He says he spent months building the half-mile racetrack in his backyard and invested more than $100,000 into the project.

He did it all so that his son could achieve his dream of becoming a racecar driver one day.

It isn’t the first time we have seen a dad go above and beyond for their kid’s passion.

Just recently, we saw another dad build a fully working wooden Lamborghini Sian Roadster for his son.

Neighbors complaints led to a total shutdown

According to Siperko, most of the neighbors thought the track was great, but a few vocal ones caused problems.

They also called the racetrack an “eyesore” which might drop the value of their homes.

Unfortunately, Siperko didn’t get a permit before building the track, unlike this guy who built a 5.1km F1-style race track with 22 turns in his backyard.

Now he’s facing an uphill battle to get the racetrack approved for his son.

Siperko suggested using quieter all-electric go-karts and restricting the track to only his son and his friends during a fixed time of the day.

He plans on compromising so that everyone ishappy with the outcome.

We sure hope he can strike a deal so his son can get back behind the wheel.
