Maybach is a name that’s synonymous with luxury and elegance.

The German marque has, since its conception, been dedicated to the pursuit of four-wheeled luxury.

Recently, a video has gone viral of a group examining one up close and personal.

And the scale of the luxury is truly something else.

The marque of excellence and opulence

If you happen to be a car fan, or a fan of pop culture, then you likely will have heard of Maybach.

The German marque used to exist as a standalone luxury car brand.

In 1909, Wilhelm Maybach established the Maybach Engine Construction Company – renamed in 1912.

1919 saw the company build its prototype car, which became a production model in 1921.

Interestingly, it also had a British subsidiary called Maybach Gears Ltd.

As you probably guessed, this subsidiary focused on production of gearboxes.

During World War II, the company produced most of the German Army’s tank engines.

The end of World War II would see the end of the firm producing cars as a standalone marque.

Mercedes and Maybach become partners

The 1960s would see the marque purchased by Daimler-Benz.

Essentially, the German sub-division would become the ultra-luxury wing of Mercedes cars.

Unfortunately, it didn’t sell that many units as a standalone brand.

However, 2014 saw the revival of the marque within the wider group.

In 2014, Daimler announced that Maybach would serve as a sub-brand of the Mercedes S-Class.

The Mercedes-Maybach S600 was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

It’s produced on the same assembly line as the standard S-Class in Sindelfingen, Germany.

TikToker takes close look at luxury brand

As we mentioned, a video about the brand has gone viral.

The TikTok channel Pushing Pistons recently uploaded a video.

In said video, the presenter offered a walkthrough of one of Maybach’s luxury vehicles.

And it’s as high-end as you can possibly imagine it to be.

Firstly, the presenter offers the correct pronunciation, which is ‘my-bach’.

Then, he’s able to close the door with one literal swipe on the touchscreen pad.

The interior is a truly wonderful place to be, with luxury headrests, footrests, and a folding table.

Oh, and you also get your own Mercedes-branded headphones, too.

You also get cooled/heated cup-holders – because of course you do.

At night, the experience is even better, with augmented lighting resembling something from the Tron film.

Furthermore, the driver is able to control everything from the touchpad – and the brake pedal closes your door.

Of course, this luxury doesn’t exactly come…cheap.

In fact, this particular EV will cost you $230,000.

In fairness, with luxury like that, wouldn’t you want one, too?
