People can’t believe the 360-degree turn feature on Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen isn’t fake

Ahead of its arrival, several videos have gone viral showcasing the upcoming Mercedes-Benz EQG’s 360-degree ‘G-turn’ feature.
If you hate parallel parking or U-turns, this feature might be useful for you.
This maneuver is only possible as the all-electric G-Wagen features an all-wheel drive (AWD) setup with four electric motors.

Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen
The Mercedes-Benz EQG is the all-electric version of the G-Class.
Officially it’s called the Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology.
However, this isn’t the first car to do a 360-degree tank turn.
Rivian had showcased the R1T SUV pulling off the maneuver back in 2019.
This particular party trick is possible when the wheels on one side of the car spin in the opposite direction to the wheels on the other side.
Forget ‘U-turns’ – introducing the ‘G-turn’
A video showcasing the feature was shared on the ‘Blowkenn’ Instagram page.
“I want this just so I can spin around on someone that honks as soon as the light turns green,” commented one user.
“So long manual U-Turns,” commented another.
Seeing the Mercedes-Benz G 580 perform the ‘feature ‘G-turn’ makes it look like it’s straight out of a video game.
Although the first part of the video is just a rendering, the feature is quite real.
Other than the weird G-turn feature, the electric SUV also offers a 116kWh battery with an estimated range of 473km.
Despite weighing over three tonnes, the car can offer a 0-100km/h speed in just 4.7 seconds.
The all-electric G-Wagen also supports fast charging of up to 200 kW.
Powered by four individually controlled electric motors, it can also produce 579hp and 859lb-ft of torque.
Although the 360-degree turn feature is quite nice, there are many other reasons to be interested in this car.
