World-renowned car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz offers lots of perks to its customers, but perhaps the most impressive is the Mercedes-Benz Manufaktur program.

The program allows customers to customize their vehicles to their own specific tastes.

Among other touches, seats can be altered and paint colours can be selected from a long list of options.

Mercedes-Benz is known by auto fans all around the world

Mercedes has produced powerhouses and supercars for many years, to great acclaim.

Mercedes-Benz was founded in 1926 in Stuttgart, Germany, and is today a respected, global auto brand.

As you probably already know, its impressive fleet includes daily drivers, too, like the C Class and S Class sedan.

And, of course, the marque’s notable luxury cars include the G-Class, A Class, and the AMG-GT.

But the brand also houses a program that allows you to customize the cars, too.

Mercedes-Benz Manufaktur program

Merc’s customization scheme is known as the Mercedes-Benz Manufaktur program. And it allows certain models to have parts and fittings changed to suit the customer’s taste.

In fact, the marque says that the program ‘combines exquisite materials, [with] a love for detail and handcraftsmanship.’

The scheme expanded in 2024, including the opening of a studio where all the magic happens, with up to 20 vehicles every day undergoing ‘variable individualization’.

That studio is located in Sindelfingen, Germany, and owners can even watch the team at work as they get down to business, expertly crafting their customized vehicles.

Owners can customize color options, materials, or trims. Seats can also be tailored by making the bottoms slightly longer, or making them wider or narrower.

The Manufaktur Studio is sectioned into four parts that include a customer area and a space to allow for vehicle preparation.

Why personalization is the future of the supercar brand

Personalization really is the future of the supercar brand as technology improves and helps to create these touches, including certain paint processes.

One in particular, named PixelPaint, according to the manufacturer itself, ‘revolutionizes the wide-ranging options for multi-colored vehicle paint jobs’.

The process was actually inspired by an inkjet printer and involves the precise application of paint onto the body, allowing for more intricate designs.

Unfortunately, the program is only available for select models; however, it recently expanded to include the S-Class.

Mercedes says that the introduction of the Manufaktur studio space ‘marks a new era for automotive personalization’.

And the hi-tech stuff doesn’t stop there – 3D-printing is also part of Mercedes’ digitalization and customization processes, alongside a new MBUX interface which uses AI.

The future of car customization is most definitely here.
