Mercedes wants you to forget everything you know about minivans, because its Vision V concept vehicle looks more like a private jet on wheels.

Set to launch in 2026, the Vision V will be the German carmaker’s new luxury-focused electric van.

This futuristic vehicle is envisioned to serve as both a fancy limo for celebrities and a luxurious family car.

Basically, for anyone who wants a people carrier that actually looks good.

Unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show, the Vision V is Mercedes’ bold preview of executive travel in the electric era.

It’s built on Mercedes’ new VAN.EA (Van Electric Architecture) platform, a scalable electric vehicle foundation designed for both commercial and luxury private vans.

This platform allows for a flat-floor design, enhancing interior space and comfort.

The Vision V’s expected range is over 300 miles, thanks to its 800-volt electrical architecture and efficient powertrain.

But it’s the interior that really steals the show.

Step inside the Vision V, and you’ll be greeted by a ‘private lounge’ designed for ultimate comfort.

The rear cabin features two first-class lounge seats that recline to nearly flat positions, surrounded by crystal white Nappa leather and burled wood.

A retractable 65-inch cinema screen shows that the Vision V is a vehicle meant to be chauffeured in, rather than driven.

The 42-speaker Dolby Atmos surround sound system, complete with seat-integrated exciters, ensures an immersive audio experience.

Passengers can enjoy movies, play games, sing karaoke, or engage in video calls, all facilitated by the advanced infotainment system.

Dynamic lighting and switchable glass partitions further enhance privacy and ambiance.

While the Vision V is a concept vehicle, it previews the upcoming VLS and VLE models, which will be produced in China and other regions starting in 2026.

China is expected to be the biggest market for the Vision V at the moment, but the US is next in line.

While Mercedes hasn’t released the cost of this concept vehicle yet, don’t be surprised if it costs more than an S-Class.

Still, given how it’s a mini-van that moonlights as a five-star hotel suite, it will be well worth the hefty price tag.
