Missouri man daily drives a 1,800HP Chevy Camaro and the miles per gallon he achieves is far from surprising

This guy has been driving a 1,800-horsepower Chevy Camaro in Missouri for a while, but what’s really surprising is that this is his daily driver.
Not a Sunday vehicle, not a track-only beast; an everyday car.
He calls it ‘Nemo,’ which is kind of cute.
But the MPG isn’t cute.
Can you daily drive a 1,800-horsepower Chevy Camaro?
From a car owner’s perspective, there are two main issues with driving a 1,800-horsepower Chevy Camaro.
First, and most obvious, is the cost.
A 1,800-horsepower vehicle will burn through fuel like it’s nothing, which means your daily budget must be immense.
The second problem is that 1,800 horsepower is way too much.
In the real world, a 1,800-horsepower car is either completely undrivable or if it isn’t, then it means you’d be using around 20-30 percent of its potential at best.
Then again, it’s certainly fun, which is the whole point.
But we bet the credit card statement showing the total costs of fuel stops isn’t fun.
This must be the thirstiest car we’ve come across this year
Justin Keith, owner of Missouri-based tuning company Killer Performance, daily-drives his modified sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, nicknamed ‘Nemo’.
Originally equipped with a 650-hp supercharged LT4 V8, the car lost its supercharger when Justin installed a custom 390-cubic-inch LT-based engine built by Late Model Engines, paired with twin 80-mm Garrett G45 turbochargers.
The setup generates roughly 1,800 horsepower to the rear wheels.
The original 10-speed automatic was also replaced, as was the exhaust system.
Apparently, this is now the fastest quarter-mile 6th-gen Camaro in the world, which was the whole point of the build.
“Not a lot of people are willing to go this crazy with something. But it is… it’s got a purpose and that’s going fast in a straight line,” he explained.
We don’t doubt it.
Too bad it only does 8 MPG, which is mad.
For reference, a standard Camaro – not exactly the most fuel efficient car in the world – gets 16 MPG or even up to 25 MPG for the four-cylinder model.
Even though, to be completely fair, we have to remember that fuel price is generally very low in Missouri.
And this guy loves it anyway.
“I’ve put a lot of heart in this car. I’ve put a lot of work, blood, sweat, tears… and I just can’t see myself ever getting rid of it,” he said in the video.
Well, if he’s happy, we’re happy.
