This vintage footage of a Model T off-roading in the 1920s has people saying it could do things that modern cars can’t.

Off-roading is not for the faint of heart, but the man driving this old style car clearly had no fear.

Stock footage showed the car being driven in increasingly jaw dropping settings, through bumps, snow and even over a railway track.

The video may be old, but it still has the power to shock today.

The Model T that left the internet shocked

The video was captured a century ago but can still captivate car lovers.

In the clips, a man is seen driving his Model T through increasingly treacherous scenes.

First he took the car across rugged terrain, which has more bumps than a sand dune in storm season.

Amazingly, the car took the rocky road in its stride.

Modern cars would struggle with that even today, as demonstrated by this Hyundai stuck up in the Honeymoon Trail.

Then it took on a stream and a heap of snow.

You don’t have to be a car expert to know that these aren’t a car’s best friend.

Water frequently leaves cars stalled – so it’s a good thing this YouTuber figured out how to fix it with rice.

And cars have been known to turn into ‘giant ice cubes’ in fiercely cold weather, as happened in Michigan last month.

But most impressive of all was the car traipsing across a railway bridge without a care in the world.

Obviously, no trains were running at the time.

And finally to top it off, the car took on a giant pipe, just because.

The internet reacts to a retro case of off-roading from the 1920s

The video has accumulated more than one million views on YouTube and has garnered a ton of comments.

One user wrote: “I’m seeing this old vehicle doing things some of our modern trucks can’t do.”

This sentiment was echoed by another viewer: “Meanwhile, today people have enormous pickup trucks with high off road capabilities and they never take them off asphalt.”

“It’s crazy how flimsy it looks but how well it performs,” commented another YouTube user.

Others suggested that all early cars were natural off-roaders and that most early roads were pretty tricky to drive on.

A fellow viewer said: “The only requirement for off-roading isn’t a big engine or big tires, it’s simply confidence and competence.”

There’s your motivational quote for the day.
