The Dodge Viper V10 and the Shelby GT500 are two of the most iconic muscle cars you can find.

Both are renowned for being loud, proud, and extremely fast, to boot.

In a video circulating online, a heavily modified Viper just happened to pull up alongside a Shelby GT500.

You’ll be amazed at what happens next.

Dodge Viper and Shelby GT500 face off

In a video that’s getting some traction online, a Shelby GT500 is seen waiting at a set of lights.

While minding its own business, a Dodge Viper just happens to pull up alongside it.

But bear in mind that this is no ordinary Viper – it’s a very heavily modified version.

This particular iteration of Dodge’s snake icon is supposed to be pushing around 2,200HP.

The supercar starts revving – and the sound is absolutely unholy.

Viper spits venom at Shelby cobra

Our two snake-branded rides both start revving at the lights.

The venom-spitting V10 appears to be running extremely aggressive aftermarket cams.

We haven’t even got on to the side exhaust pipes.

Said side exhaust pipes literally start spitting fire at its Shelby rival. Yes, actual fire.

But the fun doesn’t even stop there.

The Viper then makes the distinct whine of having at least one turbocharger lodged in its engine.

V10s are also capable of producing over 2,000HP with forced induction.

Viper and Shelby procession on the street

The remainder of the video shows the Dodge and the Shelby GT500 traveling side-by-side on the street.

As a result, the side-by-side comparison also surprised quite a few viewers in a different way: the size.

Many people were shocked at how small one of the autos was.

Given it’s engine size and monstrous performance, the Dodge is often assumed to be a much bigger ride than it actually is.

In reality, the car itself is quite small, with the massive V10 engine squeezed in tight under the hood.

So now you know, if you see a fire-spitting, turbocharged-whining Dodge Viper V10 pull up alongside you at traffic lights – drive away.
