Some car enthusiasts today would argue that the American muscle car era is behind us, but one of the most iconic rides from that era — a 1970 Dodge Charger — was found sitting in a garage, behind another garage, after 36 years off the road.

You read that right — the car was inside a secondary garage resembling a mini barn in a garden behind an actual garage.

Is it a barn find, or as the man who found it called the discovery, a garden find?

Man flew to the UK to find the world’s most iconic muscle car

Sam Hard from the YouTube channel ‘Hard up Garage’ flew to the UK to rescue this muscle car and posted a video about it.

The man is undoubtedly a petrolhead and loves working on classic cars.

What’s more, he used to own a ’69 Charger, so this was just the right vehicle to fill in that gap.

After removing the covers from the car, he immediately noticed an unusual amount of missing parts, but Sam didn’t falter.

Instead, he had spare tires ready for installation so he could move the car out of its long-time home.

After installing a steering wheel, the team pushed the car out so they could load it onto the back of a truck.

Although this makes for one of the most iconic classic car barn finds, restoring it won’t be an easy feat.

The 1970 Dodge Charger comes with question marks

This 1970 Dodge Charger was missing parts, and getting the exact hardware for such old vehicles can be challenging.

You see, models like the Challenger and Charger changed almost every year, so each model looked a tad bit different as time passed.

Moreover, this barn find was already a project vehicle before its previous owner, Tim Cummings, had it.

Tim, however, decided to try his hands at making the car somewhat complete before Sam had it.

That is why the muscle car now has the front grille from a ’69 model and free space for a 440 cubic-inch engine.

Neither of these would help in restoring the 1970 Dodge Charger to its former (and factory) glory.

Hence, Sam will need to experiment and find just the right parts to restore it, but we’re sure the end result will be well worth it.

Sam ideally wants to paint it orange and make it as close to the factory version as possible.

As for what happens, we will have to see.
