The idea of an emotional support supercar might sound like a joke until you see a Porsche 911 GT3 RS being unloaded from a plane.
That’s exactly what happened in a now-viral video, where the supercar was treated like the world’s most pampered luggage.
Let’s face it, flying can be stressful.
But while most of us settle for some airline snacks, this mystery millionaire needed something a little more expensive.

The TikTok video shows a Porsche 911 GT3 RS being carefully unloaded from a Thai Airways plane.

It’s not clear which airport this is, but judging from the raincoats that the cargo crew were wearing, it’s likely to be somewhere that experiences significant rainfall.
So why exactly did the owner of this 911 GT3 RS decide to bring it along on his trip?
Well, nobody knows for sure, so we need to make some intelligent guesses here.
Most of us have some kind of ritual to relax on flights.
It may be watching a cheesy rom-com, or snacking on airline peanuts.
We might even need an emotional support animal in order to help us get through the flight.
However, this person’s idea of relaxation might be a little different.
It is the scent of premium leather and the growl of a naturally aspirated flat-six engine.
For this traveler, the Porsche GT3 RS wasn’t just a ride, but a reassuring presence on wheels.
Kind of like a weighted blanket, but one capable of going 0-60 in around three seconds.
Of course, getting a car on a plane isn’t quite as easy as throwing it in the overhead bin.
Shipping a supercar by air involves precise logistics, even when you aren’t trying to fit as many supercars as possible into the world’s largest military plane.

Fluids need to be drained, custom pallets are preferred, and the cargo crew must be comprised of trained professionals.
And this emotional support supercar likely doesn’t come cheap.
Air freight for a vehicle like the GT3 RS can easily cost more than $20,000, depending on the destination.
For example, West Coast Shipping estimates the cost of shipping a Ferrari SF90 Stradale from Los Angeles to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to be between $25,000 to $40,000.
This doesn’t even include additional factors, like insurance or customs fees, or the cost of additional security.
Of course, it’s usually much cheaper to ship your car by sea, although it may not always be the safest option.
After all, consider this cargo ship full of Porsches, which found itself on fire in the middle of the ocean.
A Lamborghini Aventador shipped via a climate-controlled container will cost you ‘only’ $18,000, a steal compared to the air option.
But when the car can be worth upwards of $500,000, like this 911 GT3 RS with $220,000 worth of options, then there’s no choice if you can’t bear to be apart.

Sometimes, this is just the price you need to pay for love.
And let’s face it: nothing beats arriving in a new country and seeing your emotional support supercar waiting on the tarmac like a VIP guest.
