The internet is going crazy for this mystery Porsche spotted at Los Angeles International Airport – that even Porsche can’t identify.
The car first appeared earlier this week, leading many to speculate that the German brand was planning to unveil it during the Monterey Car Week.
However, Porsche has denied any knowledge of the vehicle, leading to heightened mystery.

What type of car is being moved through LAX?
One of the biggest points of contention is the car’s brand.
It shares some similarities with the 993 GT1 Strassenversion – both painted in Arctic Silver and Fern White.
However, the car being transported through LAX lacks the Strassenversion’s rear wing, instead going for a ducktail spoiler and large air intakes behind the front door.
It also has a larger grille on the front and slim LED lights under the round headlights.
A photo of the mystery vehicle was shared to the r/whatisthiscar forum on Reddit, leading to further speculation.
Porsche speaks out
Car website Jalopnik reached out to Porsche to see if they had any idea where the car had come from.
Porsche’s spokesperson claimed they weren’t aware of the car’s origin, although they conceded it ‘looked cool’.
This leaves the floor wide open to various theories being floated over the internet.
One posits that the car isn’t a Porsche at all, and is in fact a Prius wearing fake body panels.
Others theorize that the car is a commission of a wealthy Porsche enthusiast, however it’s unlikely that anyone would want their commission sitting out in public for days on end.
As it currently stands, this mystery remains unsolved.
It’s not the first time a car has left the internet scratching their heads.
A McLaren sat outside a London hotel led to constant discussion before a hotel staff member finally stepped forward to clarify the car’s origin.
And then over in Beverley Hills, a Shelby GT500 raised some eyebrows after it was seen parked in the same spot for weeks on end, gathering dust and tickets.
