This man from Oregon says his 1987 Volvo 240 is the ‘best car ever made’, especially given the number of miles it’s driven.

The Volvo 240 was first launched in 1974 and, thanks to its safety features, has been a staple in the industry ever since.

After one man shared his positive experience of the car, others have come forward with similar stories.

And, it’s clear to see that the 240’s features have stood the test of time.

Volvo is a brand that has stood the test of time, with many drivers staying loyal to the brand after purchasing their first.

The Volvo 240 has proved itself as one of the brand’s most reliable and beloved models, too.

“The elongated bonnet and rear were not just cost-efficient but deliberate design decisions to enhance passenger safety,” the company said.

The company’s not the only one singing its praises either.

“Volvo 240. Best car ever made. Mine is a 1987. Now has 443k,” Facebook user, Peter Ryan said on the Mileage Impossible group.

“Just took it on a 2k mile road trip this summer. I love this car.”

And it turns out that Peter isn’t the only driver who thinks this, either.

“I’ve never owned a Volvo, but that’s a good looking whip. Some cars are just not built like they used to be,” one man said.

“The 240 truly is the best car ever made. I own 5 of them,” added another.

“Underrated legend of reliability and safety,” said a third.

Peter even weighed in on the car himself.

“I’ve done a lot of maintenance work and it has some minor upgrades, but it’s mostly stock,” he said.

Volvo has 2 of the highest mileage cars in the world

Volvo was established in the 1920s and has proved its cars are made for marathons, not sprints.

Two of the three highest mileage cars in the world are Volvos, with the odometers having nearly 5 million miles combined.

Volvo even once decided to dangle its president, along with a 15-ton truck in the air to show just how strong its hook was.

Now that’s backing your product.
