This owner decided to sell their exquisite-looking, almost all original Dodge Challenger after keeping it for 34 years, and, apart from one thing, it’s completely intact.

The original Dodge Challenger first appeared in 1969 and has been a staple in the US auto industry ever since.

Challengers remain popular amongst gearheads, and the time has come for this 1971 convertible to find a new owner.

The car is in incredible shape, but there is one catch when it comes to the auto being 100 percent original.

This original, exquisite-looking Dodge Challenger is for sale after 34 years

The original Dodge Challenger is a genre-defining muscle car that stormed onto the car scene in 1969. It’s been a staple in many car enthusiasts’ lives ever since the first model was rolled out of the factory.

“While it shared Chrysler’s ‘E-body’ short-deck, long-hood platform with the […] Plymouth Barracuda, Dodge Challenger’s wheelbase was two inches longer, creating more interior space,” according to parent company Stellantis.

But, despite its rich history in the US auto world, one owner has decided to sell their exquisite-looking, almost all original Dodge after owning it for 34 years.

The car is in impeccable shape, but there is a slight catch. All of the parts are original, bar the paint, which splashed onto the exterior ’20 years ago to freshen [it] up’.

The 1971 Dodge Challenger is also a convertible and has been in the Chrysler Register for 22 years, along with being previously certified by Galen Grovier, so you know it’s the real deal.

The listing describes it as being in ‘excellent condition’ with a 318 two-barrel automatic engine, and as it’s in such good shape, the asking price for the car is $59,890.

It is located in Naperville, Illinois, and is available online, but you’d better be quick, as it was posted over two weeks ago.

There are many versions of the Challenger available

Thanks to the car’s long production history, many versions of the Dodge Challenger are available and are a top choice among gearheads.

The powerful engine and distinct look are often customized by auto enthusiasts who put an even bigger spin on the car’s powertrain and exterior shell.

For example, in Arizona, a Dodge Challenger stretch limo was recently on sale for $69k on Marketplace, and the vehicle was seriously impressive.

Plus, some celebrities are even fans, including Kevin Hart, who has a one-of-a-kind Dodge Challenger, and it could even be about to break records too.

If you had a spare $60,000, would you think about purchasing the exquisite-looking Dodge? You can take a look at the listing on Craigslist and decide.
