This is proof that when technology is in the right hands, it can truly work miracles.
A paralyzed man is able to walk again simply by thinking about it thanks to electronic brain implants.
Basically, artificial intelligence (AI) is the reason he’s able to walk again.

The story goes, 40-year-old Dutch man Gert-Jan Oskam was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident 12 years ago.
But now, with the help of motion capture computer technology, AI, and sheer hard work and determination, Mr Oskam is back on his feet again.
The electronic brain implants wirelessly transmit his thoughts to his legs and feet via a second implant on his spine.
Doctors call this the ‘Digital Bridge’.
In a year, he has shown great signs of neurological recovery.
Even with the implant switched off and with crutches, Mr Oskam is able to walk again on his own.
And as he highlighted himself, he’s able to stand at a bar again with friends and enjoy a beer.
It really is an incredible story.
There’s lots of talk about AI at the minute, much of it negative to be honest.
But, if ever there was a good advert for AI – this would be it.
We’re not the only ones to think so either.
A recent post on Instrgram telling Mr Oskam’s story has gathered significant attention, with the post receiving more than 740,000 likes and thousands of comments.
“Crazy how technology can change so many lives for the better. Hopefully in the future it can shift the catastrophic effects that we have caused in the natural world the same way,” one user posted.
“This has been in the works for some time. I’m happy to see it has been successful and hope the accessibility to it will be possible. This could add quality of life to so many,” another said.
“Men are simple, in the end it comes down to having a beer,” another joked.
