People on Reddit have been sharing the apps they think we should add to our Apple CarPlay in our own cars.
CarPlay is almost a standard feature in many modern cars, with apps like Apple Maps, Spotify, and more available, giving cars far more functionality than they have ever had.
But users on the r/CarPlay Subreddit have shared various apps they have on their systems, and there are quite a few that you’ve likely heard of.
Adding some of these apps to your own car may be a great way to enhance the driving experience.

What Apple CarPlay apps were people recommending?
Users on the Reddit thread recommended all kinds of apps.
Podcast apps came up quite a lot in the discussion.
One user suggested Pocket Casts, while another one also suggested Overcast.
Unsurprisingly, map and navigation apps were also a talking point.
One suggested Sidecar, which they described as ‘Apple Maps on steroids.’

in CarPlay
Not only do you get navigation, but you also get speed limits via a widget, as well as the weather at your destination.
Plus, it even gives you historical vehicle diagnostics, and it can scan your car for faults.
Waze also came up, another Apple Maps alternative, with some praising its extra features over the Apple offering.

CarPlay has more applications than you’d think
What the Reddit discussion showed was that CarPlay has more apps than you would ever believe.
Music was another talking point, with Spotify naturally being mentioned.
But there were others discussed, too, such as YouTube Music and Jango.
Jango offers free radio streaming, with many saying it is much better than another option, Pandora.
The software is set to expand more soon, with the addition of AI apps to the software.
As well as Siri, users will soon be able to access more AI Chatbots such as Google Gemini and ChatGPT.

What this shows is that the software is way more extensive than you may have first realized.
There are a huge number of apps available, many of which you may never have heard of.
It does mean that there is something for everyone when you are driving and using Apple CarPlay.
