This soccer player owned his Aston Martin supercar for just a few days before a rival’s reaction prompted him to sell it at a $32,000 loss.
Peter Crouch, who has played for England’s national team at the World Cup, bought himself an Aston Martin back in 2005.
This followed his $9 million transfer from Liverpool to Southampton, and his debut on the national team.
However, his feelings on the car quickly changed after a brief encounter with soccer rival, Roy Keane.

Why did Peter Crouch sell his Aston Martin within days of buying it?
It was the early days of his Aston Martin ownership, and Crouch was feeling pretty good about his new purchase.
But all of that was set to change whilst waiting at some traffic lights.
Crouch retold the story on his podcast The Therapy Crouch, which he hosted alongside his wife Abbey Clancy.

“I bought an Aston Martin when I was kind of playing for Liverpool. I got in the England squad and I thought, yeah I have made it,” he recalled.
“I’ll get an Aston Martin, I deserve it. But I knew I looked like a t**t in it.
“And then I was driving around, I remember seeing Roy Keane at the lights.”

Usually, seeing a rival whilst driving around in a new car would be the perfect opportunity to show off.
But that’s not how this interaction went down.
The one look that sealed the deal
“He just gave me a look of like what a d***head. I had my arm out, bins on, listening to some garage. And he just looked at me like a piece of s**t,” Crouch said.
“And I literally, with that look sold the car that week.”
As if that wasn’t bad enough, he suffered a $32,000 loss as a result.

According to his wife, flashy cars aren’t really his style.
“You’re not a flashy person who is really obsessed with cars,” she said.
“My favorite car Pete bought me, a vintage 1986 Mercedes convertible for my 30th birthday.”
This sets him apart somewhat from other soccer players who are known for flashy cars.
Nobody exemplifies that better than Cristiano Ronaldo.
But it’s not just him – Kylian Mbappé and Marcus Rashford are also known for enjoying their cars.
