The crew behind the Pimp My Ride UK took a simple Ford Ka and turned it into something else.

The owner of the car was shocked when she was the result, and things got worse as time went by.

The owner also talked about some behind-the-scenes moments that weren’t great.

All in all, she wasn’t too happy with the result.

This Ford Ka was given the Pimp My Ride treatment

This woman’s Ford Ka started out as an understated blue hatchback, but Pimp My Ride turned it into something else.

They painted it silver, with black accents, and weird x-shaped decorations across the hood, the roof and the back.

For whatever reason, the team also added an actual sewing machine in the trunk.

It’s a nice touch, except it sort of makes the trunk unusable.

The owner was not particularly happy, and things got worse when mold appeared.

The story behind the show

When MTV launched Pimp My Ride in the US, they hired rapper Xzibit to host and present the show.

The ratings were great, and he actually learned something from the show, by his own admission, and his experience at Pimp My Ride helped him when it came to choosing cars for his collection.

But there’s something worth pointing out.

Back then, in the early 2000s, the notion that reality shows were actually not real and mostly scripted was still a bit foreign.

Most of us had no idea.

These days, most people know that every show is scripted, including the ones that claim they’re not.

This brings us on to one of the problems with the show, because so many owners later admitted their reaction was not genuine and the cars were not great.

Most of the cars were good for TV but not good to own, which explains why so many were later sold or abandoned.

Even the owner of the Ford Ka admitted to this.

As reported by AutoEvolution, she was less than satisfied with her new car.

“They got me to refilm my reaction because my first reaction was [confused],” she said.
