Seven years ago, the Range Rover Evoque took part in an interesting test after the company created a huge speed bump in London to see how the luxury SUV and its four-wheel drive handled it.
The challenge was to have the SUV negotiate what was called ‘the mother of all speed bumps’ and see what it could handle.
Unsuspecting motorists would also have to negotiate it, but many were forced to drive around due to its size.
It was a very clever piece of marketing by Range Rover, as they looked to show off the full capabilities of what is still one of its best modern SUVs.

The giant speed bump caused havoc for motorists
The start of the video shows commuters in London walking past the speed bump, baffled by its presence.
Unsuspecting motorists then turned up and were equally confused by what they were seeing.
Of course, several of them tried to get around it and proceed as if everything was normal.

A motorcyclist took one look at it and simply turned around to find another route.
A guy on a BMX bicycle had a great time as he rode over it, while a couple of runners hopped over it.
One motorist tried to drive over it, but the car got wedged at the bottom.
The Range Rover Evoque cruises over the speed bump
However, when the Range Rover Evoque made its appearance, it easily took on the challenge of the speed bump.
It approached the bump at a decent speed and proceeded onto it at an angle.
A couple of wheels lifted into the air, but the four-wheel drive kept the luxury SUV moving.
Thanks to the ride height and ground clearance, the SUV also didn’t scrape along the top of the bump.
It quite gracefully rolled onto the other side, with many onlookers stunned by the performance of the Evoque.
Even with a couple of wheels in the air, it rolled down the other side and then simply drove away.
So as it turns out, if you have four-wheel drive on a Range Rover, you might be able to navigate a giant speed bump in the city.
